Friendly Fred

Hi, I'm FriendlyFred and running this blog. I play 'em all from soprano to baritone, acoustic and electric. Yes, big hands can handle small instruments. Enjoy strumming around and have a good day !

Aloha ‘Oe

Aloha 'Oe is an old traditional from Hawaii. It was written in 1878 by Lili'uokalani. I played my Ovation Applause UAE 20 in open G tuning ( D G B D' ). I used a thick carbon plectrum ( Techra 1,00 ) and a big glass bottleneck ( Jim Dunlop ). In the background you can hear:
  • Kala longneck concert ukulele ( strumming in standard tuning )
  • Ortega RUE14FMH baritone ukulele ( sliding in open G tuning )
  • electric drum and bass samples

Could you email me the tabs or point me in the right direction to find them?
All I’ve been able to find are things with strumming n the slide sounds so nice.
Thank you for your time and help.

I played this tune all by the ear. The tuning is D G B D’. I don’t know if there are tabs for the melodie. Thanks for listening.
