The New York Ukulele School

" Start spreading the news ... " Ok New York City isn't  Big Island. But it seems to be a good place for uke players. You get an impression of the vivid ukulele scene if you click here. Just recently I got in contact with Mark Michaels who runs the New York Ukulele School. The logo on his homepage looks like a promotional poster for a musical from the 70's. But you can also see a tattooed beauty with a uke. To get an impression of Mark, please take a look at the following video. He accompanies one of his students. I have no idea why he runs around during the performance, but you get an impression of his skills at 0:54 when he plays a cool bluesy solo. You find more videos of his students on his Youtube channel. Mark offers individual and group lessons.
