Fake Aquila Strings & UV Light

Aquila released a video, where they draw attention fake nylgut strings. The real ones glow under UV light.   I don't use Aquila nylgut strings. I don't like the rather low tension and the sound. I had them on my baritone uke and the wounded strings started to unwind after one week. Nylgut is just a kind of nylon, nothing special. I don't know why so many people like them. I prefer carbon strings. If you buy a  Ultraviolet detector as they say in the video, here's my advise: Wait till it's dark, switch off the lights and turn your  Ultraviolet detector on. Now look at the floor and the walls. If you see some stains, well this might be some high-protein body fluids like urine, blood or sperm. From you, other people or your pets. FriendlyFred
