Hi, I'm FriendlyFred and running this blog. I play 'em all from soprano to baritone, acoustic and electric. Yes, big hands can handle small instruments. Enjoy strumming around and have a good day !
Jason Mraz ” I’m Your’s – Ukulele Tutorial, Playalong
Ukulele Chords And Lyrics ( PDF )
Here 's my ukulele tutorial for " I'm Your's " by Jason Mraz.
I pitched the chords one note, so that it's easier to play.
You can download chords and lyrics by clicking on the link under the video.
This is a Reggae tune. Learn to play the easy strumming first.
Dampen the strings between the strums, so that you get this offbeat feeling.
Try to keep a constant strumming pattern.
Thank you for sharing!! You are so kind to share your koglwedne and passion for piano with the world! I have always wanted to learn to play and I am excited to keep watching your videos and practicing on my keyboard. Don’t listen to all those haters out there!! You are unique and special and I praise you for that!
just watched the Youtubevideo ” Cool Down ” by Kolohe Kai. Sounds great.
At the moment I’m concentrating on doing songs from the charts, but I keep that in mind.
Thanx Kaitlynn for watching and using the playalong.
To be honest, I didn’t want to make a video about this song. Just not my cup of tea.
But I got so many requests, that I did it. Now I think the song is ok.
Just got my first ukulele yesterday. I knew a few chords already, but really looking forward to learning this song. I am going to learn it off of the video. Thanks!
High 4th means the 4th string ( G ) is tuned 2 tones lower than the first ( A ), also known as reentrant tuning.
Low 4th means the 4th string is tuned one octave lower.
Try a straight offbeat rhythm first. Watch the beginning of the video and play only the doen strums when ” + ” is shown in the strumming pattern. That’s easier than the shown strumming pattern.
Hi Mallory, I would suggest to leave out the third strum. Then try to repeat it after the pause. Concentrate on the bass drum to catch the rhythm. Practise the strumming some days. Don’t think too much. Try to go with the flow.
Hope that helps a little bit.
Best wishes
FriendlyFred
I’ve had my ukelele for a while but i never really tried using it. I recently tried using it but whenever I try to strum my fingers always get caught in the strings. If anyone could give me some tips or something to help me because I really want to learn the instrument. I’ve tried almost every website I can but I still need help. Anything will be appreciated. Thank you. 🙂
Hi Friendly Fred, I will like to know how do you do that small little hammering part at the start of the song. Will really love to have that advice. Thank you.
Thank you so very much!
Thanks for watching Brian.

Thanks for watching Emma and keep on strumming.
Dumb question. But what does it mean high 4th? How do I pitch the strings to be higher? Is it A sharp for last string?
High 4th means the 4th string ( G ) is tuned 2 tones lower than the first ( A ), also known as reentrant tuning.
Low 4th means the 4th string is tuned one octave lower.
Cheers FriendlyFred.
I’m really having problems with the strumming pattern. Any tips?? Myabe I’m just challenged haha

I’m having a lot of trouble with this strumming pattern. I can’t seem to go up twice in a row! Any tips?

Hi Sashi,
try to hold the ukulele in a relaxed way. I wrote something about how to hold a uke here:
http://uke4u.com/ukulele-know-how/how-to-hold-the-ukulele/
Try to find other players or a teacher nearby to improve your skills.
Best regards
