Hi, I'm FriendlyFred and running this blog. I play 'em all from soprano to baritone, acoustic and electric. Yes, big hands can handle small instruments. Enjoy strumming around and have a good day !
Julien Régnier And The Sugulélé
I just discovered Julien Régnier on the web.
He's a French luthier and player. This guy shows a large variety on his Youtube channel:
Electric and acoustic guitars, banjo, bouzouki, oud ( ! ) and of course ukulele.
He builts a ukulele called " Sugulélé. He calls it " super-concert ", because it has a concert size body and a tenor neck. I guess it's like this, because my French is terrible.
The uke is inspired by the shape of the Gibson SG electric guitar ( which you might have seen played by AC/DC's Angus Young ). A really exceptional instrument.
See Julien play the Sugulélé in this video. Chunky picking man.
For more infos and images of his work please visit Julien's web site.
À bientôt
FriendlyFred.
