been playing guitar for 41 years and just bought a uke; nice site and nice touch adding cleaning the fretboard. Suggest adding using some lemon oil or Martin guitar polish (for unfinished wood) for the top during string changes also. My Pono ATC-C thanks you.

      Hi okdiver,
you’re right, unfinished wood should be treated with polish. I only have varnished ukuleles and don’t put anything on it. Some players treat the fretboard with oil or polish, I just clean it when I change strings.
Thank you very much for your comment and keep strumming your Pono.

Thanks so much for this. As brand new ukulele player, I just switched out my inexpensive soprano’s strings for Aquilas and I couldn’t have done it without your tutorial. Best on the web!
